Task-based Learning is an approach which makes planning, aims, aim
achievement and outcomes explicit and clear. In the target driven modern language class the TBL model offers very careful planning and more harmonious learning. It is also the leading methodology in CLIL (Contents and Language Integrated Learning) and is often used when implementing the 21st Century Skills in the language classroom. The talk outlines the principles of the approach
illustrated with ample examples.
HANNA KRYSZEWSKA
Hanna Kryszewska is a teacher, teacher trainer and trainer of trainers. She is a senior lecturer at the University of Gdańsk, Poland. She is co-author of resource books: Learner Based Teaching – OUP, Towards Teaching – Heinemann, The Standby Book – CUP, Language Activities for Teenagers – CUP, The Company Words Keep – DELTA Publishing; of a course for secondary schools: ForMat – Macmillan; of a video based teacher training course: Observing English Lessons. She is a Pilgrims trainer and editor of HLT Magazine and a teacher trainer with Pilgrims Language Courses and University of Oxford.
GABRIELLA FREZZA
Gabriella’s working life has centred on education. She started as a teacher of English and became the Principal
of a large paritaria school in Sanremo. She attended a master at La Cattolica University for the management of no profit organizations and worked in many important foreign universities abroad as a coordinator for programmes of English Language Learning for Italian students. She started a bilingual school with the British Council support. She was asked to speak at many conferences on the development of bilingual education and second language early learning. She is working for MLA as a business development manager at the moment and her main task is the improvement of the
teacher training branch in the company.
